Patrick Fiore - HHS Keep on Rockin Club & Math Teacher

Patrick knew early on in life that he wanted to be a math
teacher, but he never figured on music playing an important role
in his life.  Shortly after high school he started playing
guitar and by the time he was finished with college he was a
full-blown music enthusiast.  He landed a job teaching
mathematics at Honesdale High School and at the same time was
offered the role of leading the school's "Keep on Rockin" club,
which allows kids a chance to play and collaborate in a rock
& roll setting every week.  Soon after, Patrick and the
kids started playing live gigs every month at The Cooperage, and
"Sounds Like Teen Spirit" was born.  It's been going strong
for years and Patrick tells the story of how he integrated music
and math into his life to create some remarkable opportunities
for kids to build their skills and confidence while playing live
in front of an audience.  Patrick's snack food of choice is
an acquired taste to say the least, but it was a fun adventure to
try!
