Steve Bates - Honesdale Volunteer Fire Department Chief (recorded 7/12/2018)

Steve Bates is the chief at Honesdale Volunteer FD, and has been
a volunteer firefighter for most of his adult life.  He
joined Adam in July of 2018 to discuss what's involved in
volunteer firefighter, how he ascended to the rank of Chief, and
what goes on behind the scenes and in the aftermath of a
structure fire.  There is a tremendous ongoing need for new
volunteers, and Steve explains the process of becoming a
volunteer and how important it is for local residents to support
the work that volunteer fire companies do.
