Wassail! Join hosts Gabe Cook, Grant Hutchison and Tom-Tit
(Martyn Goodwin-Sharman) as they hang bread from trees and pour
cider on the roots on old twelvey, in the garden of the Neutral
Cider Hotel!

Gabe jumps in with some boozy salutations, and explains the
history of Wassail, Martyn says FACE, and Grant worries about the
twelve listeners we’ve lost to the history lesson! British
traditions of bog snorkelling, knee slapping and cheese rolling
are admired, before Scott shoots it all down! Grant praises Jonny
Hamilton and his piece on how Pellicle Mag came to be, and his
thoughtful, honest dive into personal struggle and mental health.
Martyn then brings up “the best thing he’s ever done”, and
something to look forward to after the lockdown. Then, it's onto
the interview!

Our interview this week is with two of the most influential
voices in the UK cider scene; Cath Potter and Dick Withecombe!
Hosting the Manchester Cider Club, a part of Cider Women and
until recently Cider Buzz MCR, these cage rattlers have made
their voices heard and have had such a wonderful impact on the
scene! The guys chat about everything, from their view of the
podcast, the cider bubble and reaching outside of it, converting
beer drinkers, the impact of one book on their whole approach,
the lexicon of cider and the work of CAMRA. It’s a full to the
brim interview, and we could have drank along all night!

This week’s tasting sees the boys crack some bottles of Pulpt’s
Level, a clean, crisp and easy drink that defies the deep
analysis of the usual hotel drinks in favour of pure
drinkability!
