Christmas is the Season of ____________
S.T.R.E.S.S.!!!! . It's a busy, busy, busy
season. Stress levels are on the rise! Some of us find
ourselves running around and around on the proverbial hamster
wheel.
Today you might find yourself at your local mall, or a school
class party, maybe the office party, or buying groceries for the
hoard of people expected over the next few weeks. You are feeling
the pain of it all. Beginning in your stomach a tight knot is
forming, your palms are sweaty, it's harder and harder to sort
out your thoughts trying very hard to keep track of projects and
remember everyone on your shopping list, besides you are hungry
and your body is tired to the bone. Depression can even hit hard
during the holidays. But this is the way it is, isn't
it?
Hold on . . . there is some GOOD NEWS!

Do this with me: S.M.I.L.E.
Do an inner smile, use your imagination and
'SEE' & 'FEEL' your inner
self SMILING . That's easy enough. Yes the smile
will probably show up on the outside too, you just cannot help
yourself.
Take 5 deep breaths. (Breathe in deeply - hold - Exhale slowly -
hold) Do this 4 more times. How do you feel now? Use this simple
exercise at night too when sleep evades you and your mind is
working over time, just PRESS PAUSE. Repeat if
desired. It's so simple and quite effective.This simple breathing
exercise lowers your blood pressure, slows your heart rate, Calms
nervous energies and allows peaceful, quiet, calming thoughts or
no thoughts at all. You have entered an inner quiet state
that is always available.
