#6: Bonus Episode! My Background + Nutrition Best Practices

On May 6, 2018 I was asked to present a nutrition seminar for
members of the community, hosted by a local lululemon location.
For those who couldn’t be there, I wanted to share my speech from
that event with you by putting together this special episode.


I open with a bit on my background and poor eating habits growing
up, and the struggles I faced working through an eating disorder
and body image issues. I talk about the chronic illness I was
diagnosed with at the age of 14-years-old that brought my
athletic aspirations to a halt, and how my first job at a gym
encouraged me to do a figure show in hopes of fixing my low
self-esteem. These experiences ultimately led to my mission to
better understand how to fuel the human body for sustainable
health and longevity.


Then, I address common misconceptions, and discuss my nutrition
best practices; or the five things you should know whether you’re
just trying to eat well or are contemplating starting a
diet.
