“The world gets smaller when you see more of it.” – Allie Jorde

Allie (@alliejordecreative) is a videographer, photographer and
an enthusiast of living life to the fullest!

In this episode we talk about:

Traveling on a budget

How & why to research international travel

How Allie got into her career

Daily practices that help her stay grounded

Allie's advice on how to inspire creatives

13:13- Turning a passion project into a career.

22:37- Practicing presence and being without social media. Having
fewer photos of your experiences can sometimes be an indicator of
how much fun at the moment! Discuss the podcast episode about
time management.

24:47- Allie has been to 23 countries at 22 years old! Allie
explains how you can travel often without it being so expensive:
hostels!

28:51- Allie’s biggest mistake: doing touristy things. Don’t hire
a tour guide to take you places. Google before you go! Find
travel blogs!

31:33- What has Allie learned from being “conned”? Allie does her
research more now before traveling to avoid getting “conned”
again.

34:17- Allie met a lot of her friends online. Meeting women in
the area that you’re traveling to. It’s important to find women
who will have your back, especially when in foreign places.

47:37 – Learn what rituals Allie uses to stay grounded when she’s
not traveling. As a free bird who loves to travel, she also
realizes she needs routine and structure.

51:27 Recognizing that YOU can create your own happiness. Take
little pieces of things you love. Change your environment. Find
joy in the simple pleasures.

54:31- What is Allie really excited about? Graduating from
college soon! She will soon be working in the Dominican Republic
with high school youth.

57:30- What are the ingredients of a fulfilling life? Allie:
“Community. You need people around you who are going to push you
and make you think differently and experience the world through a
different lens. Let your cup run over with love. Have people in
your life that love you and lift you up, because if you don’t
have this- what do you have?”
