Carl Ruggles (1876-1971) lived to the age of 95, but
published only 8 works in his lifetime — less than an hour of
music. In this podcast, I present an overview of this enigmatic
composer, as well as an analysis of Lilacs, the central
movement of Men and Mountains, for orchestra (1924).
