Brett Schnepf is the Executive Director, Partner Development,
Conservation & Environmental Executive of the Iowa Hemp
Cooperative and his own personal journey in venturing into the
cannabis business. He shares his own personal journey about
venturing into the cannabis business. Currently, governance is not
handled at the national level, so management is done at the state
level. Many states require ‘vertical integration,’ which means that
if you distribute cannabis, you must also grow it, and process it.
Each state has their methods of regulation, and enforcement with
multiple agencies involved in different licenses that are required.
