Christoph Burgmer im Gespräch mit Salwa Bakr. Salwa Bakr ist eine
bedeutende ägyptische Schriftstellerin. Die 1949 in Kairo
geborene Salwa Bakr gehört einer Generation Literat:innen an, die
eine feministische Perspektive unabhängig von politischen
Ideologien einnimmt. Schwerpunkt ihrer in zahlreiche Sprachen
übersetzten Erzählungen ist die Lebenswirklichkeit von einfachen
Frauen in einem bis in die Gegenwart chauvinistischen Umfeld.
Themen sind Zwangsscheidungen, Beschneidung von Mädchen und
Sexualität. Das Gespräch wurde 1996 in Kairo geführt.

تنتمي سلوى بكر، المولودة في القاهرة عام 1949، إلى جيل من الكاتبات
اللاتي يتبنين منظورًا نسويًا مستقلًا عن الأيديولوجيات السياسية.
تركز قصصها، التي تُرجمت إلى العديد من اللغات، على واقع حياة
النساء العاديات في بيئة لا تزال شوفينية حتى يومنا هذا. تشمل
الموضوعات الطلاق القسري وختان الفتيات والجنس. أجريت المقابلة في
القاهرة عام 1996.


/ Christoph Burgmer in conversation with Salwa Bakr. Salwa Bakr
is an important Egyptian writer. Born in Cairo in 1949, Salwa
Bakr belongs to a generation of writers who adopt a feminist
perspective independent of political ideologies. Her stories,
which have been translated into numerous languages, focus on the
reality of life for ordinary women in an environment that remains
chauvinistic to this day. Topics include forced divorce, the
circumcision of girls and sexuality. The interview was conducted
in Cairo in 1996.
