In the classic children's story The Emperor's New Clothes, two
swindlers trick an entire village into pretending they don't see
reality. Fearful of looking foolish before their fellow
villagers, the men and women go along with the elaborate hoax,
playing on the vanity of the emperor and their own pride. Instead
of blowing the whistle, the villagers remain stuck in groupthink,
creating a storyline that has been translated into 100 languages.
Unlike the villagers, many of us do understand that we are called
to be truth-tellers, that we are commissioned to be
culture-shapers, that we are compelled to break toff the chains
of deception in this generation. As historian Peter Burke says,
"Change is often the result of conflict." Join Dr. Lisa Dunne as
we learn how to break free off the fear of man so we can rise up,
speak up, and deliver the truth that will set people free.
