If you’ve ever been trapped in a paradigm, emerged from it,
and then looked back in retrospect at the folly of deception, you
have probably experienced a sense of amazement that you could
have been so incredibly misled, so convincingly deceived by
something so unreal. Many people today live in similarly
problematic paradigms, caught up in a world that is more of an
invasive  illusion than a true representation of reality.
There are imaginary definitions and pressures and imaginary
milestones and deadlines and imaginary audiences and
expectations.  It’s a world of illusion and delusion, one
that mass media defines and dictates: a handful of owners
parroting the same narratives,  applauding the same
mediocrity, prescribing the same cures, consuming the same fare.
Like our food intake, a media diet should be managed through
portion control and nutrient density. Too much “dangerous
nonsense” will skew the behavioral scale. To be effective, media
use needs to be tempered, purposeful, and contemplative in
nature, for its consumption is capable of directing the outcome
of our lives: What we meditate on, we believe, and what we
believe, we become. Join Dr. Lisa Dunne as she provides pathways
for breaking free of mass media's problematic paradigms.
