In this special Rock Talk Drop, we sample some of the recent
(2020-2021) songs that best speak to our world today, as curated
by Kris Kosach.
Forget the protest songs of the past. 2020 and 2021 have brought
grace and harmony during a time of social unrest, political
turmoil and a pandemic …all in the form of music.
Music has the ability to heal and bring people together. So with
that in mind we present a sample of contemporary protest songs
and those that speak to our times. We at Text Prose &
Rock N Roll believe in supporting the artists who made these
songs, so we will only play a small portion to pique your
interest (Found below). You will find links to all of these
artists and links to purchase their songs in the show notes from
todays episode.
Public Enemy
Casey Shae of Grand Canyon
Lyrics Born
The People Between
The Linda Lindas
The Otis Redding Foundation
Joan Baez "We Shall Overcome" 2010 is in the Public Domain.
MANY OF THE SONGS ON TODAYS SHOW (and others) CAN BE FOUND
