Dear Violin

Because some of the saddest sounds I've ever heard have come out of
a piece of wood Carved just to mimic The human voice Strings placed
in unity Held up by a bridge Are you HEARING this Are you having a
good day How about now Now that my bow is  no longer
Hitting the strings That my wrist isn't cradling your neck, Dear
violin, I have missed your dance. I have missed your candor Your
call I realize we haven't been the best of friends Lately But
tonight I am going to pick you up. I'm going to tune you back to
life. I'm going to weep onto your body. I'm going to listen to you
sing. I'm going to record your soul And show it to the world. I
will show them the bruise you left On my left collar bone How red
it turns when I love you For too long. I will show them the salt I
left on your body I am sorry for the awful scars I hope that they
don't sting I will show them that every time I picked you up I was
able to say things that move Far faster than words
