Joaquin joined Mooner and Lolly on the most recent episode. Great
stories including his first start with the Edmonton Oilers. Let's
just say it involves beef'n cheddars, the old blinking lights on
the hotel telephone and the Millwoods golf course!
Joaquin Gage is a Western Hockey League graduate, the goaltender
played with the Portland Winterhawks and Prince Albert
Raiders. He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the
5th round of the 1992 National Hockey League Draft. He
went on to a 14-year professional career, including with the
Edmonton Oilers. He also played in Europe, going to
Britain, Sweden, Germany and Italy to finish out his time on the
ice.
After hockey was over, Joaquin went work with SHAW. Then he
felt he needed a change, even considered becoming a firefighter,
but then decided to become a financial advisor at Freedom 55
Financial in Edmonton.

Top Cheddar is hosted by Cam Moon (Mooner) & Rob LeLacheur
(Lolly) who chat with those who have excelled in hockey and the
world of business. The entertainment is plenty as we get to hear
some terrific hockey stories from all of the different hockey
leagues and some Stanley Cup tales for good measure.
In addition to the great hockey stories, we chat about the
career(s) they've enjoyed since leaving the ice and we get
to learn how hockey has helped them through their time in
business and entrepreneurship.
