Jay Henderson is a graduate of the Western Hockey League,
having played with the Red Deer Rebels and the Edmonton
Ice. He was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the
9th round of the 1997 National Hockey League Draft. He
went on to a 12-year professional career, including 33 games with
the Boston Bruins. Henderson won 3 Calder Cups in the
American Hockey League, one in Providence, one in Houston and one
with Milwaukee. He also went to Europe near the end of the
his hockey career, playing in Germany, Austria and England.
After he was done playing, Henderson wanted to stay in the
game. He was an assistant coach with the Northern Alberta
Institute of Technology (NAIT) for two years and also an
assistant coach with the Kootenay Ice of the WHL. Henderson
then got into commercial insurance and is currently an account
executive with Go Insurance in his hometown of Sherwood Park,
AB. He’s been with Go Insurance for almost 6 years.
