Are you a good multitasker? How many things do you think you can do
successfully at the sometime? What happened when we try to
multitask? Our brain simply can’t do it. Research shows that we are
not the multitaskers we think we are. When you try to multitask,
you simply become less efficient and more distracted. You error
rates goes up 50% and it takes you twice long to do the same task
Dr. Earl Miller, an expert on divided attention and a
neuroscientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, states
that our brains are “not wired to multitask well… when people think
they’re multitasking, they’re actually just switching from one task
to another very rapidly. And every time they do, there’s a
cognitive cost. Earl Miller’s research team at MIT has
concluded that: Multitasking floods the brain with cortisol, a
stress hormone, it uses up glucose (brain fuel) faster,
exhausting and confusing our minds, it leads to scrambled
thoughts and inefficiency, it makes it difficult to filter out
irrelevant information and as you jump from task to task
your IQ actually is reduced by 10 points, known as the “switch
cost”. Learn to stay focused and avoid Multitasking all together.
The good news is you can learn to focus on every task using Brain
Sync’s tool. Brainwave technology by Kelly Howell has
been very effective tools for me and I hope it will work
for you as well. Do your reasech, and be the judge of
that. Just 30 minutes a day will bring outstanding results.
