Adult: "Don't you know that curiosity kills the cat?"


Me: [silence]


I grew up in Jamaica and this is one of the phrases I heard quite
often. It was made by people, namely adults, who didn't want to
be asked any questions that made them uneasy.


That's my conclusion based upon looking back at the many times
I've heard it.
