In this episode, Toria talks to Ian Timbrell a Deputy Head
Teacher from South Wales, who is passionate about promoting
equality and equity in our schools. Ian explains the meaning of
the terms in LGBTQIA+ and explores how we can learn from the
mistakes of the past, to improve the lives of our students.

Ian has been a teacher for 15 years and a deputy head teacher for
5 years, in which time he has worked as an advisor and supported
schools across South Wales. He is currently working as a
consultant supporting schools with RSE, equality and improving
the teaching of grammar in their literacy curriculum.

He is passionate about helping children to be comfortable with
who they are and to build a society and education system where
tolerance and acceptance are commonplace. He writes regularly on
his blog at www.mrtimbrellwrites.com and tweets about LGBTQIA+
equality, and his other passions of grammar, politics, life in
general, and his amazing 9 year old adopted son at @itimbrell.
