Teaching Poetic Writing with Pie Corbett

In this episode, Pie returns to the podcast to chat with Toria
about poetic writing and how to teach this effectively. Pie is an
excellent poet – but he is also an excellent teacher of poetry -
reading it and writing it.

Pie is a fount of imaginative teaching ideas that work to help
children express themselves in poetry and/or prose and shows
teachers how to create the bridge between the two. He created the
Talk for Writing approach to learning, which is widely used in UK
primary schools.

During the episode Pie shares his approaches to teaching poetic
writing, how he uses poetry models (which can be found in his
book Catalysts) as starting points and even creates some poems
with Toria.
