Across England, 13 higher education institutions are offering a
range of short courses, delivered completely online, in-person,
or in a hybrid format. Manchester Metropolitan University offers
level 4 short courses that can be completed individually or as a
block of four to achieve a Certificate of Higher Education.

From 2025, the government’s current plans indidcate these
opportunities will be expanded, enabling full degrees to be
achieved using this very part-time, ‘pick-a-mix’ model.
