Episode 43: Pandemic Reflections: A Physician's Perspective (with Dr. Dawn Perry Ewing)

In early April I had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Dawn
Perry Ewing. Dr. Perry has been practicing as a Consultant
Obstetrician and Gynecologist and senior administrative physician
in the Turks and Caicos Islands Since 2001. This episode was
recorded just after the one year mark of the first diagnosed
COVID 19 case in the TCI. We discussed what the first days of the
pandemic were like, all the way up to the present. Dr. Perry shed
light on many issues related to vaccine hesitancy as well as
shared with us what it has been like for health care
professionals over the last year and the ways in which they have
been brought together. In addition to being one of the founders
of Omnicare Medical, Dr. Perry is the Chief of Medical Services
at InterHealth Canada here in the TCI and is the wife of the
former Premier, Ministry of Health and Surgeon Hon. Dr. Rufus
Ewing. Together Dr. Perry and Dr. Ewing have a son, Stuart, who
is also pursuing a career in medicine.
