I had such a fun podcast today with Maeve Eichelberger. I like to
call her simply "Maeve" because it's just such an interesting,
unique name and sometimes you have one of these iconic-sounding
names where the entire thing can just be one-word. In my opinion,
her name and her personality are equally interesting because
she's so full of life and has an exciting presence.

Maeve happens to be at an interesting point in her career. A
point that is fun to watch as an art dealer.  She's in her
mid-thirties and has really hit her stride. She works in a unique
medium, which, as far as I know, nobody else does, which is
acrylic sculpture.  Maeve's art consists of acrylic saddles,
chaps, and other things too, but it's these examples of western
imagery presented in a media that is not something you would
expect in the Western art world. You have these unique acrylic
sculptures in the shape of saddles that have etchings and
photographs collaged on them that relate beautifully to what
Western art is, while simultaneously embodying what it can
be.

I found Maeve on the internet when I was working on my Rodeo de
Tucson show (which is coming up on February 3rd) and I thought,
wow, this is great. Her art is a great example of unique
contemporary art that fits exactly into what I see as 'Western'.
Maeve grew up around horses while living on a ranch in Colorado.
The 'West' is something that's second nature to her.

I think you will really like this podcast. Especially those who
are artists that are really trying to find their way. Maeve gives
the story and how she found hers (and she's definitely found it).
