Honens @ Home: Scott Cuellar performs Fauré

Happy New Year!

Today, let us be nourished by a performance of Gabriel Fauré's
Préludes Op. 103 by 2015 Honens Semifinalist Scott Cuellar.

As you'll hear from Jon Kimura Parker, Honens Artistic Director,
these are somewhat unfamiliar works. Composed by Fauré at about
the same time as he was starting to lose his hearing, the
preludes are known for classical restraint and understatement,
and express deep, mingled emotions with a mysterious and complex
simplicity.
