Ep 58 Talent and a willingness to take on risk: Julian James CEO International Insurance, Sompo International

Today’s guest is one of the most experienced and widely travelled
executives in the global insurance world and someone I have been
interviewing regularly for the past 15 years. During that time he
has been in the fairly unique position of having worked on either
side of the fence for a broker and carriers alike as well as for
the Corporation of Lloyd’s. But what all his roles have had in
common have been the formulation and execution of global
expansion strategies. And unsurprisingly that is what he is
charged with in his latest role running the International
Insurance business at Sompo International. In this podcast we
talk about the state of the market and current growth
opportunities around the world. Julian has been dealing with the
media for many years and is a relaxed and eloquent communicator.

international insurance businesses of all shapes and sizes, this
