This 'Evening Edition' segment first aired October 4th, 2024 ... A
week after Hurricane Helene laid a path of destruction through
western North Carolina over a hundred thousand residents are
without water and over a million residents are living under a boil
water advisory. The flood waters severely damaged water utilities
and personal wells in a situation that could last weeks or months
and becomes more dangerous as time passes. The non-profit ‘Wine To
Water’, headquartered in Boone, North Carolina, is working around
the clock to get clean drinking water to their fellow residents in
need. FOX’s Tonya J. Powers speaks with Doc Hendley, the founder
and president of ‘Wine To Water’, a non-profit that brings clean
water to people in need anywhere in the world, who says the
devastation made the state unrecognizable in places and he details
how his organization continues to help bring much needed drinking
water to those still affected. If you want to know more, volunteer
