Defining Enemies

What is an enemy? What is enmity? Does it need to be active, or
reciprocated? Can we be someone's enemy without our own consent to
the definition? What is the difference between strong dislike and
enmity? And most importantly of all, does grudge-holding create
enmity, or prevent it?
