David Edgerton joins me to discuss his new book, 'The Rise and Fall
of the British Nation: A Twentieth-Century History'. We spoke about
British declinism, the way declinist narratives structure
understandings of modern British history and the political uses to
which declinism has been put, both on the left and the right and by
the architects of the Brexit project.
