This episode is the first in a mini series on life in Tudor
London, and today I give a brief intro to what life was like in
the capital during the Tudor period, followed by an exploration
of the most obvious landmark in the City - St Paul's Cathedral.
But it's not the St Paul's we know - it was a gothic church, that
was started 400 years before our Tudor friends lived there. The
other thing that is important about life around St Paul's was the
publishing and bookselling businesses that sprang up around the
churchyard. It became a hub of books and pamphlets, and was the
Elizabethan equivalent of Waterstones or Barnes and Noble.
