Episode 116: 5 Graves to Cairo/ Army of Shadows discussion (WW II mission movie mini-series #3)

Hey there listeners. In this episode, we continue a mini-series
of panels talking about WW II mission movies that inspired my
upcoming novel The Last Night to Kill Nazis from Clash books. The
novel comes out next month, during the pre-order period (You can
get it from the Clash site, Amazon, Barnes, and Noble, or
basically any indie bookstore) we will celebrate by talking about
the movies that inspired it.


 


In this episode, I am joined by an old friend. David Woken is a
librarian with a history focus, but he is a film nerd that is
knowledgeable in schlock and good cinema. You’ll find out quickly
why I was excited to talk about these movies with him.  The
films we cover in this episode include the 1943 classic WW2 movie
Five Graves to Cairo and the 1969 film Army of Shadows. These are
not traditional Mission movies but they influenced the back story
of one of the main characters of The Last Night to Kill Nazis. If
