Sivanandan.(1923-2018). Ambalavaner Sivanandan leitete ab 1972
zusammen mit den Mitarbeitern das Londoner „Institut of Race
Relations“. Das IRR gibt bis heute eine der global
einflussreichsten antirassistischen Zeitschriften mit dem Titel
„Race & Class“ heraus. Das Gespräch mit dem Sri Lanka
geborenen Amalavaner Sivanandan dreht es sich darum, wie
Großbritannien sich zu einem Land mit fest verankertem
strukturellen Rassismus, politisch in der Konservativen Partei,
entwickelte. So hat der institutionalisierte Rassismus
Großbritanniens „Vorbildfunktion“ für rechte und rechtsradikale
Parteien im übrigen Europa erlangt, zum Beispiel wenn es um die

Sivanandan ran the London-based Institute of Race Relations
together with his colleagues from 1972. The IRR still publishes
one of the world’s most influential anti-racist journals, ”Race
& Class”. The conversation with Sri Lankan-born Amalavan
Sivanandan centres on how the UK has become a country with
entrenched structural racism, politically within the Conservative
Party. Britain’s institutionalised racism has become a ”role
model” for right-wing and radical right-wing parties in the rest
of Europe, for example when it comes to the issue of migration
and asylum.

இனவாதம் கொண்ட ஒரு நாடாக இங்கிலாந்து எவ்வாறு மாறியுள்ளது என்பதை
மையமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது. பிரிட்டனின் நிறுவனமயப்பட்ட இனவாதம்,
ஐரோப்பாவின் ஏனைய பகுதிகளில் உள்ள வலதுசாரி மற்றும் தீவிர வலதுசாரி
கட்சிகளுக்கு, உதாரணமாக, புலம்பெயர்வு மற்றும் தஞ்சம் கோரும்
பிரச்சினை என்று வரும்போது, ஒரு "முன்மாதிரியாக" மாறியுள்ளது.
