The BBC documentary After the Dictators explores what happens to societies after dictators fall. Some dictators, like Libya's Muammar Qaddafi and Romania's Nicolae Ceausescu, are killed outright. Others, like Serbia's Slobodan Milosevic and Liberia's Charles Taylor, end up in international courts. And still others, like Stalin and Mao, pass away peacefully in bed. So how does the manner of the dictator's downfall shape their country's chances of recovery? The BBC’s Owen Bennett-Jones investigates.Part two of After the Dictators airs today. Part one aired yesterday.
