The United States used to be the only industrialized country without a national campaign to attract foreign tourists. Brand USA, a private-public collaboration, aims to change that. The campaign went public last week with its strategy to market the country as the “United States of Awesome Possibilities.” We talk to Chris Perkins, Brand USA's chief marketing officer, who says the campaign will boost the economy and create much-needed jobs. Also, Niagara Falls has fallen on hard times, but an influx of Indian tourists is helping bring back its economy. Front and Center has an audio postcard from the oldest state park in America. And on Global Notes, Chicagoan Brian Grover gives Jerome and Tony Sarabia a lesson in Tuvan throat singing.
