Phillies Weekly Week 5 covering July 30 through August 4 is now
available here This week we welcome commentary from Greg Allen, a
close friend and long time Phillies fan. Here is what we
highlighted on week 5 of Phillies Weekly
Billy Wagner makes a bid to stay in Philadelphia. An August
31 deadline is set by Wagner for the Phillies to make an offer
that's acceptable. Wagner is rumoured to be looking for a 3 year,
$24 Million deal with a no-trade clause. Wagner would like for
this contract to be his last in the major leagues.
We'll also rundown the Phils salary and long-term contract
situations and highlight what the club needs to do to resign
Wagner.
The trading deadline has come and gone and no deals were made
by the Phils. We'll rundown other NL trades that may have an
effect on the Phils as we get closer to September.
A weekly recap on the Colorado and Chicago Cubs series
including a recap from Jason Brewer who attended the Phils/Cubs
game on Wednesday.
A preview of the Phils upcoming road trip out west to visit
the LA Dodgers and the San Diego Padres this week.
Shane Victorino from the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Red Barons
(AAA) was named minor league player of the week for the
International League.
All of this and much more on week 5 of Phillies Weekly. Send us
your comments, suggestions 24/7 at philliesweekly@verizon.net
QUESTION OF THE WEEK: A new feature on Phillies Weekly, this week
we ask;
With the Phillies Bullpen pitching well, what relievers do the
Phillies need to secure if Billy Wagner does return?
