A recent article examining the coverage of the current conflict between Israelis and Palestinians in the Christian Science Monitor had this headline: US media coverage of Gaza is deeply flawed, both sides in conflict say. Journalist Gloria Goodal wrote “while they disagree on which side is favored by the media's Gaza coverade, many on both sides say a better understanding of the issues that separate the two peoples is needed.” Many of those critical of the coverage by the U.S. media agree. We’ll take a look at how the latest crisis has been covered by the major U.S. news outlets, social media and other sources with Liz Spade, editor and publisher of the Columbia Journalism Review and former managing editor of The Washington Post, Ali Abunimah, co-founder of the Electronic Intifada and J.J.Goldberg of The Jewish Daily Forward.
