Ground invasion of Gaza has begun, and air strikes from Israel continue. CNN International’s Diana Magnay was pulled from Israel when she called Israelis cheering for air strikes scum. Did she respond appropriately to the situation? During the ongoing ground invasion, approximately 230 Palestinians have been killed. Is coverage of the situation slanted towards Israel? Some people are calling for an end to the financial aid given to Israel. The point is brought up that Israel does not need our financial aid anymore. Republicans are worried that Obama’s support of Israel is giving Obama too much “leverage” against them. US financial aid to other countries is analyzed. Gina and Ana join Cenk and Ben in the second hour. Another case of police brutality comes to light, this time in Staten Island. Eric Garner tries to break up a fight between two civilians, and police attempt to arrest him. When he resists, one officer puts him in a choke hold, which kills him. Witnesses say that Garner was a gentle giant and had no intention of causing violence. Police chief Tim Kelemen has been dealing with a lawsuit because of his attempt to regulate Tea Party protests along a certain bridge. Kelemen received threats and was harassed by Tea Party members. He responded by signing Tea Party leaders up for porn sites, gay dating sites, and Obama Care among other things. Kelemen is being charged with a misdemeanor. FedEx is dealing with a government indictment over the delivery of illegal drugs from less than reliable “pharmacies”. FedEx claims that they are not law enforcement and they only deliver the packages. Will the CEO of FedEx be held responsible? Probably not. 51 year-old Thomas Thorpe is dealing with an attempted murder charge. He was provided with a public defender, but refused to accept his help because he was black. Despite his racism and lack of foresight, he is being given a new attorney. University of Oregon officers are under fire after they compiled a list of people they want to “eat a bowl full of dicks”. The police officers had time to kill during the night shift, and used this list to entertain themselves. The list includes Comcast, campus bicyclists, and “mouth-breathers in general” among other things. A lawsuit regarding wrongful termination is currently underway.
