Zen refers to the meditative state, to the conscious act of absorbing experiences with the goal of enlightenment. This is Sina Foley's approach to gigging. Anxiety doesn't seem to have a place in the heart of this songstress. In fact the opposite seems true for Sina. She is calm, soft spoken and appreciative of the experiences she's had as an entertainer. Despite a shifting and sometimes unsure gig climate in Las Vegas, Sina seems poised and ready for what ever happens next. She senses when to bring her "A game" and when to re-invent herself. "I never really worried about work. The idea is this: Wow! This is awesome…for now." Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii in a conservative and loving family, Sina was bitten early by the entertainment bug. She went from playing viola in her school orchestra to performing in production shows throughout Hawaii. Education was also a top priority for Sina. Eventually, after moving to Las Vegas, she earned her masters degree in Journalism and Mass Media Communications from UNLV. She even taught for years at her alma mater gigging all the while up and down the Vegas Strip. Sina brings class and elegance to things. She is a pleasure working with and eager to be a part of new things. The Zen master Zhuangzi once said “Flow with whatever may happen, and let your mind be free: Stay centered by accepting whatever you are doing. This is the ultimate.” Sina gigs this way and shines with enlightenment. Namaste, ladies and gentlemen. Episode 16 is Sina Foley.
