They're headed for a second round runoff after a Sunday March 23, 2014 poll. We’ll look at some initial election results with Eve Zuckerman. She’s originally from France and is president of the French Club at the University of Chicago, where she studies political science.
At least 3 people were killed over the weekend in Venezuela as protests continue. On Saturday, supporters and opponents of President Nicolás Maduro staged rival rallies in Caracas. David Smilde, a senior fellow at the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) and moderator of the blog "Venezuelan Politics and Human Rights", joins us from Caracas to discuss the ongoing social unrest.
The film "Le Weekend" is the fourth collaboration between director Roger Michell and writer Hanif Kureishi. The film stars Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan as a pair of sixty somethings who go to Paris for the weekend to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. WBEZ Film Contributor, Milos Stehlik, joins us to discuss the film.
