The Chew Valley Lake Encounter

A man made lake, a sunken village and a girl trying to get home...

Created in 1956 chew valley lake is the largest artificial lake in south west England. Before the lake was made, there was the village of Moreton which was compulsorily purchased and then flooded to make this reservoir.

During the summer months when the water level is low, you are still able to see the old Moreton village stone bridge.

And on the road surrounding the lake, something else is occasionally seen...

Until next time!
