Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi has given the army power to arrest civilians and has ordered the military to maintain public security as protests and violence have increased in a run-up to Saturday’s constitutional referendum. For many Egyptians, the edict is reminiscent of the Mubarak era. We'll discuss this and other issues with Joseph A. Kéchichian, a non-Resident Fellow at the Washington-based Middle East Institute and author of Legal and Political Reforms in Saudi Arabia.
