Talented young pianist Christian Sands turns 21 this month, and Piano Jazz marks the occasion with this new session. Sands presents a fresh look at the entire language of jazz -from swing to Brazilian and Afro-Cuban rhythms. A student at the Manhattan School of Music, Sands already has three solo albums, a Grammy Awards show appearance, and a duet with the late Oscar Peterson under his belt. He gets together with guest host Christian McBride for duets on "Lonesome Lover," and "Kelly's Blues."
