French pianist Michel Petrucciani lit up the jazz world during his brief life. A genetic disorder left him standing only 3 feet tall as an adult, but he overcame his disabilities to become one of the most interesting and passionate pianists of the last several decades. In this program from 1987, Petrucciani, then age 23, performs his own tune, "The Prayer," and McPartland joins him on "My Funny Valentine."
