This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest highlights from the
Principality.
The Monaco Press Club celebrated two decades of dialogue on July
24 with a special anniversary evening at the Méridien Beach
Plaza. The event, attended by His Serene Highness Prince Albert
II, coincided with the Sovereign’s 20th anniversary on the throne
and honoured 20 years of fostering media engagement and cultural
exchange.
That same evening, Stade Louis-II marked its 40th anniversary in
cinematic style, hosting its first-ever open-air film screening.
The historic stadium transformed into a giant alfresco cinema,
drawing crowds for an unforgettable night under the stars.
On July 25, HSH Princess Charlene led a major awareness drive for
World Drowning Prevention Day. The campaign, held at Stade
Nautique Rainier III, gathered emergency responders, water safety
experts, families, and hundreds of schoolchildren to promote
lifesaving water safety practices.
Summer celebrations continued on July 26 as Port Hercule erupted
with Monaco’s first fireworks display of the season. Organised by
the Mairie de Monaco, the show lit up the Riviera night sky,
delighting thousands of spectators along Quay Albert Premier.
Culture took centre stage on July 27 at the Grimaldi Forum with
the Monaco premiere of Liverpool Oratorio, composed by Paul
McCartney and Carl Davis. Performed by over 150 musicians and
singers, including the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the
event was attended by HSH Prince Albert II and marked a major
cultural milestone for the Principality.
On the political front, Monaco’s new Minister of State,
Christophe Mirmand, continued his official visits. On July 28, he
was welcomed at Monaco City Hall by Mayor Georges Marsan, meeting
with elected officials and staff. Two days later, on July 30,
Mirmand visited the Principality’s Economic, Social and
Environmental Council as part of his introductory tour.
In the world of gastronomy, world-renowned pastry chef Cédric
Grolet officially opened his first boutique in Monaco on July 30,
within the iconic Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. Known globally for
his artistic trompe-l’œil pastries, Grolet’s arrival adds another
star to the Principality’s culinary galaxy.
Tourism officials had reason to celebrate as Monaco was voted
Best European Destination for 2025, following a public vote of
more than six million participants. The accolade reflects the
Principality’s excellence in hospitality, innovation, and
sustainable tourism.
Sporting glory also arrived on July 30 when Pierre Casiraghi and
the crew of Jolt Six clinched a historic victory for the Yacht
Club de Monaco, winning their category in the prestigious Rolex
Fastnet Race and securing the Admiral’s Cup for the first time in
the club’s history.

This week on NEWS.MC TV, we bring you the latest from the
Principality, where tradition, culture, and diplomacy have taken
centre stage in a week packed with celebration and reflection.
Down by the seafront, Monaco’s Larvotto district is buzzing with
new life thanks to Le Petit Marché du Larvotto, a weekly market
launched on Thursday, July 17th. Offering fresh produce,
artisanal goods, and a warm community vibe, the initiative
promises to become a new staple for locals and visitors alike.
Saturday, July 19th marked a major moment in Monegasque history,
as the Principality honoured two decades of reign by HSH Prince
Albert II. Nearly 6,000 citizens filled the Place du Palais to
pay tribute to the Sovereign, whose reign has been defined by
environmental leadership, international diplomacy, and a deep
connection to Monaco’s traditions.
That same day, Prince Albert continued to champion Monaco’s
cultural vitality with a visit to the Nouveau Musée National de
Monaco, where The Roaring Twenties of Coco Chanel is now on
display at Villa Paloma. The exhibition explores Chanel’s impact
on Riviera glamour and the evolution of modern femininity,
offering rare insight into a pivotal era in fashion and art.
Speaking of art, the Monaco Master Show has taken over the Opera
Gallery in spectacular fashion. Coinciding with Monaco Art Week,
this summer’s major exhibition honours Marc Chagall and Fernand
Léger with more than 40 pieces on display — marking 40 years
since Chagall’s death and 70 since Léger’s, and reminding
visitors why both remain icons of 20th-century art.
On the political front, Monaco welcomed a new face in high
office. Christophe Mirmand was officially sworn in as Minister of
State on Monday, July 21st, in a formal ceremony at the Prince’s
Palace attended by both HSH Prince Albert II and Princess
Charlène. His appointment signals continuity and a renewed focus
on public administration at the highest level.
Parliamentary diplomacy also took the spotlight, as National
Council President Thomas Brezzo received Carles Enseñat Reig,
General Trustee of the Andorran General Council, and his
delegation for a three-day visit beginning July 22nd. The two
countries reaffirmed their strong parliamentary ties, with
discussions focused on collaborative governance and legislative
exchange.
Infrastructure met innovation this week as HSH Prince Albert II
inaugurated Espace Honoré II, a newly centralised government hub
designed to streamline public services by housing nine
departments under one roof. The modern facility represents a
significant leap forward in Monaco’s administrative efficiency
and citizen experience.
In this week’s exclusive interview, NEWS.MC TV sits down with
Gilles Dyan, Chairman and Founder of Opera Gallery. Dyan
discusses the vision behind the Monaco Master Show, the enduring
influence of Chagall and Léger, and the gallery’s role in shaping
Monaco as a global art destination.

This week on NEWS.MC TV, we bring you the latest from the
Principality, from royal connections to world records.
History, heritage, and a brush with empire took centre stage as
the Grimaldi Forum opened its much-anticipated summer exhibition,
Monaco and the Napoleons: A Crossed Destiny, on July 10.
Spearheaded by Louis Ducruet, the show features nearly 200 rare
artefacts, artworks, and personal items, many of which are being
presented in Monaco for the first time. The exhibition uncovers
fascinating links between the House of Grimaldi and the legacy of
Napoleon Bonaparte.
That same day, the Embassy of Monaco in Italy hosted a landmark
event in Rome, celebrating 150 years of Monegasque diplomacy in
Italy and 20 years of Prince Albert II’s reign. The dual occasion
underscored the enduring bond between the two Mediterranean
neighbours.
On the music front, the timeless setting of the Prince’s Palace
courtyard echoed with classical masterpieces as the Monte Carlo
Philharmonic Orchestra kicked off its beloved summer concert
series under the stars. The open-air performances blend
tradition, elegance, and Monaco’s singular charm.
July 11 brought fireworks of a different kind at Stade Louis II,
where the 39th Herculis Diamond League saw world-class athletes
smash records and deliver emotional farewells. The night marked
the final edition under the stewardship of legendary director
Jean-Pierre Schoebel, with nearly 16,000 fans cheering from the
stands.
The focus then turned to the next generation of marine
conservationists. On July 12, students from the A2M summer
session, dubbed the “Reign of Prince Rainier III” cohort,
received their certificates. The programme, rooted in scientific
study and sustainability, drew young minds from around the globe
to Monaco’s shores.
Also on July 12, the glitterati gathered at the Salle des Étoiles
for the 76th Monaco Red Cross Gala. Prince Albert II and Princess
Charlene, joined by family members Camille Gottlieb, Louis
Ducruet, and Marie Chevallier, welcomed celebrity guests
including Charles Leclerc for an evening of philanthropy and
pageantry in support of humanitarian causes.
The following days saw Prince Albert II visit Saint-Paul-de-Vence
and La Colle-sur-Loup, two newly recognised Grimaldi Historical
Sites of Monaco. The visits underscored the Sovereign’s
commitment to preserving the cultural links that bind Monaco to
its regional past.
On July 15, the Prince was back in the Principality, attending
France’s Bastille Day reception hosted by French Ambassador Jean
d’Haussonville. Held on Monte-Carlo’s sun terraces, the event
celebrated Franco-Monegasque friendship with dignitaries from
both nations.
In this week’s exclusive interview, Roland Brautigam, Ambassador
of Mercy Ships, joins us to discuss how floating hospitals are
transforming access to healthcare across the globe. He shares
insights into the charity’s work, its growing relationship with
Monaco, and how the Principality plays a vital role in advancing
global medical outreach.
