Jesus' Teaching on Divorce

In Ephesians 5, Paul tells us that marriage is a picture between
Christ and the Church. What would it take for Christ to divorce
his bride? This is the ideal that Jesus is laying out in the
gospels when he speaks of marriage and divorce. Much of the
debate around divorce is trying to figure out exactly when
divorce is or isn't allowed, but we pay little attention to the
design of marriage in the first place.
