Ask, Seek, Knock

Certainly you have prayed for something and not received that
something before. Then you've come across verses, like Matthew
7:7-11, which seem to indicate that when we ask for anything in
the Lord's name we will receive it. How do we reconcile the
apparent conflict between our lived experience and the promise of
Jesus himself?
