In an era where digital connections are omnipresent, an increasing
number of people across the world are feeling more isolated than
ever. This radio feature explores the paradox of “digital
loneliness” — how technology, while promising constant
connectivity, can also deepen feelings of solitude. Through
intimate interviews, expert insights, and real-life stories from
across Austria, the piece sheds light on a growing social
phenomenon that disproportionately affects the young and the
