Patsy Cline's Daughter Julie Dick Fudge Releases New
Children's Book 'Walkin' After Midnight' with Author Judith A.

GEORGIA RADIO - In a heartwarming tribute to her legendary
mother, Julie Dick Fudge, daughter of the iconic Patsy Cline, has
collaborated with author Judith A. Proffer to create a new
children's book, Walkin' After Midnight. The book, which is
set to release on September 17, 2024—coinciding with
International Country Music Day—celebrates the enduring legacy of
one of country music's most beloved figures.
Patsy Cline, whose career was tragically cut short in a 1963
plane crash, remains a towering influence in both country and pop
music. Her 1957 hit "Walkin' After Midnight," which marked her
breakthrough, climbed to #2 on Billboard's country charts and was
later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2020. The song's
haunting melody and poignant lyrics have captivated generations
of fans, making it a timeless classic.
The new book, Patsy Cline’s Walkin’ After Midnight, is a
tender and imaginative exploration of the dreams and emotions
that Cline herself might have experienced as a young girl. "My
mother was a beautiful force of nature and ahead of her time in
many ways," says Julie Dick Fudge. "This book imagines the dreams
she may have had while also addressing loss and sadness and the
joy of visiting with loved ones in our dreams. Over the years,
there have been many meaningful ways that her legacy has been
honored, and our little book is a reminder that the spirit of
Patsy Cline—along with her music—lives on and on."
Published by Meteor 17 Books, Walkin' After Midnight is
now available for pre-order on Amazon, with its official release
set for September 17. The book promises to be a touching addition
to the literary world, offering both young readers and fans of
Patsy Cline a way to connect with her enduring legacy.
Georgia Radio listeners can tune in on August 26 at 12 PM ET to
hear more about the book directly from Julie Dick Fudge. A
podcast will follow the live broadcast, allowing fans to revisit
the conversation and delve deeper into the story behind this
special project.
