Rob Mercer was born and raised in Springfield, Ohio. Rob worked in
engineering at a nearby hospital. His interest in UFO's and
Astronomy began when he was about 7, when his uncle Terry came to
came to their house telling them about strange lights he saw in the
sky on his way home from work one night. He asked Rob’s mom if he
could come with him, and we went back out looking for them on that
same night. They were unable to find them, but from that point on
Rob was hooked on the subject. Rob would also read and watch
everything he could find. Terry had a telescope, and would come
over to their house with it often since they lived out in the
county where it was dark. This is how Rob learned about the night
sky. Rob has seen and followed objects that he thought were not of
this earth, and would usually figure out what they were. Rob
eventually bought his own, and would continue to stargaze with his
daughter. It gives him a chance to conduct his own rudimentary
investigations. They’ve been everywhere from Gulf Breeze to
Roswell, Socorro, Snowflake, Sedona, the gates of Area 51, and
more. His family doesn't complain, as a matter of fact, they had a
better time in Rachel, Nevada.
The MIAMI VALLEY UFO SOCIETY was formed for all, including those
from Ohio and the Miami Valley area interested in the UFO
phenomenon and other mysteries.
