England when a computer mixed up the “bright” and “dumb”
kids.  The teachers taught according to the report and when
admin found the error, they retested them.  Results found that
the actual group of “bright” kids had gone down significantly and
the actual group of “dumb” kids had increased.  The bright
kids labeled dumb created the paradigm for the teachers to teach
them and they were treated as mentally limited, uncooperative, and
difficult to teach.  The dumb kids labeled as bright had
created a paradigm shift for the teachers-they said they knew the
kids were smart, so if the kids weren’t learning it must be their
teaching and they should try different methods. People Will Meet
