Babylon A.D. (2008)

We’ve only got a few Vin Diesel pit stops left this lap, and
today’s takes us to a post-apocalyptic (?) wasteland (?) in Babylon
A.D. We talk about the muddied behind-the-scenes backstory of this
movie, Vin Diesel as “Toorop,” and the absolute lack of dedication
this movie shows toward coherent world-building. We talk about the
contention between Vin Diesel and director Mathieu Kassovitz, Vin’s
multitude of movie references, and the simultaneous cool and weird
way Vin gets into a car in this movie. We also talk about the
criminal underuse of Michelle Yeoh, the xXx interlude in the middle
of this movie, and how they totally just “yada yada” the ending.
