Have you ever wished you could undo one moment in your life? One
harsh word you can’t take back? One horribly wrong turn? One zig
that should have been a zag? I think we probably all have. There’s
a theory that there are infinite universes, kind of like the
reflections you see in an elevator with mirrors on both sides. But
in every universe, ONE little thing is different. One choice went
the opposite way—and the effects of that choice bloomed out into
time, changing lots of other things in the process. Some big, some
small. In one universe, your decision not to stop for that McFlurry
means you didn’t get killed in a car crash. Your boyfriend didn’t
marry someone else a few years later. They didn’t have kids. One of
those kids didn’t grow up to be president, or cure cancer, or blow
up a building. You get the idea. In the story we’re about to tell
you, one choice made in anger and pain changed the course of
several people’s lives, and ended several others’.
